WELCOME TO THE EXCITING WORLD OF PODCASTING!
Podcasting is a form of digital media that allows you to create and share audio recordings with your audience.
Whether you're passionate about storytelling, sharing knowledge, or discussing your favorite topics, podcasting offers a unique platform for creative expression.
In this course we will learn about a few essential tools: a microphone, headphones, recording software, and a hosting platform. Don't worry if you're new to the technical side of things - we will explore plenty of user-friendly resources available to help get started.
We will also spend time brainstorming content for our podcast, highlighting what interests us and what we're knowledgeable about. The key is to choose topics and themes that excite and resonate with our audiences.
Podcasting is all about creating connections with listeners, so students are encouraged to be authentic and engaging. With a bit of creativity and a lot of passion, we'll be on our way to creating a the first few episodes of City on a Hill's new "Hidden Echoes" podcast series that keep audiences coming back for more!

Students enrolled in this course will participate in creating a professional-quality podcast that will be broadcast on City on a Hill's new podcast series, Hidden Echoes."
The Hidden Echoes Series is a platform for youth voice and self-expression.
Youth report feeling frustrated by the feeling that they need to say things repeatedly, like an echo, before they are heard. The Series serves to elevate these hidden voices and give them a space to create meaningful content and connection, with a goal of spreading awareness and focus on important causes in the community.

By the end of this course, students will:
· Understand what podcasting is, its power and use;
· Design a podcast concept, series and episode, including basic storytelling and structure;
· Learn basic video and audio production and editing skills, including hands-on experience in recording and producing a podcast episode;
· Understand basic media branding, marketing and monetizing techniques;
· Produce a completed podcast for public viewing to reflect their skills and understanding;
· Be aware of careers in podcasting and media production.
